Interview with Coup de Foudre, located in Washington D.C.

What is the “theme” of your store? High-End European Lingerie, Bridal, and Bra Fitting Store

How do you want your customer to view your store? Warm, welcoming with expert fitting service and high quality merchandise

What do you think was the hottest trend in 2016?  Definitely lace bralets and non-wire options

What do you love the most about working in the intimate apparel industry? Making a difference in the everyday lives of women

If you could pick any celebrity to appear in your store, who would it be? I think Pink would be fun!  She’s irreverent, straight-forward, and loves lingerie

With intimate apparel becoming more and more of a street style today, how do you allow your store to adapt from the bedroom to the street? We educate our customers on what’s trending such as wearing bodysuits, decorative corsets and lace bralets as outwear and layering pieces.

What defines your store’s shopping experience? We take pride in our ability to fit our customers expertly with styles that are both flattering and comfortable. Our customers range from young college girls looking for full bust support to professional women looking for optimal foundation and silhouette to wear in the boardroom to the nervous bride looking for her bridal garments and trousseau.  I think we do a great job serving a wide range of needs.

What are some of your personal favorite brands? Prima Donna, Lise Charmel, Simone Perele, Chantelle, Christine Lingerie, Cosabella, and Samantha Chang.

With so many new brands out there and so much information sent to you through many different outlets, how does a new brand catch your eye? I need to see the pieces, touch them, and gauge the fit. It helps if they meet an identified need.  I am always looking for supportive chemises and support for my full busted customers

What do you look forward to the most at CURVE? Seeing what the trends are, the colors for the next buying season, and the chance to create excitement in the store while creating new merchandising strategies for new collections.
